======================================

We are 5.4.2 (going LIVE with 5.5.2 on June 22) C/S. We implemented Restorable Orders a few weeks ago, and noticed that if a patient has duplicate medication orders (example-Risperidal 0.25mg tid scheduled, and Resperidal 0.25mg prn 2hs), if the patient is discharged, then readmitted within 30 days (which is what we have our parameters set for restorable orders)-ONLY ONE of the Risperidal orders comes back as Restorable. I posted a task with Meditech, and this was their response:

current functionality does not restore duplicate orders. This
issue is being addressed in Proposal 7157, which reads as follows:

4. Currently, the system does not bring over duplicate medications or
procedures. This has caused some important medication orders to be eliminated
from the restorable orders screen. For example, often patient's have
Acetaminophen 650 MG ordered for two routes: Oral and Rectal, or have the same
medication ordered with two different strengths to be given based on a pain
assessment. The current design will not bring over duplicate medications within
a visit. It may not be beneficial to bring procedures over with duplicates,
however, to keep the functionality streamlined, this new Restorable Status
should work consistently for both Procedures and Medications.

Proposal 7157 is currently on Development's priority list for a future release.
(This status means that while it has been agreed that the proposal has merit, it
is not on the priority list for the current year.) I have added this task to the
list of requests for this functionality.”

Has anyone found a workaround for this?

Thanks!
