I actually just sent off our updated contract to get the FDB POEM order strings so I'll have information for you soon. check back with me in about a week or 2. Ask you PHA specialist about using the String Batch Routine under System Management to load strings. In short, you can run a report for how ever long you that tallies how meds were ordered and those strings are loaded into the formulary dictionary. There are a few steps involved but they are not hard to follow at all. It worked in house for MT but it didn't work correctly at my site. For the month of January it only returned a total of 4 drugs and I know the PHA ordered way more than four drugs for that month. I worked with Leo Cook on it so if your specialist isn't familiar with it ask him or her to contact Leo Cook on Creating order strings from Ordering Statistics . They are in the process of trying to figure out why it's not working here but that too may be a start that's FREE. We just don't have the time ! to wait right now, we are going LIVE with our 1st phase of POM in EDM June 20th and need order strings ASAP. I hear there is some mapping involved to map various things from FDB to the set up of your MT system. Leo at Meditech says using the Meditech system to create the strings is much easier.......but it doesn't work at our site but maybe it will at yours.
