I'm not sure if this will help but this is how I have ours set up:

On the query that asks When IV site is due to be changed I have the
following attribute:

FCL1=IF{%Z.date.in(@.response)=(@.today) @W.return("IV Site is due to
FCL1= be changed today - if unable to, document action.");""}
FCL2=IF{%Z.date.in(@.response)<(@.today) @W.return("IV Site change is
FCL2= OVERDUE! Change or document reason it can't be.");""}
FCL3=IF{%Z.date.in(@.response)<(@.today) %MIS.OA.MSG.auto("IVCHG")}

The OA Msg in FCL3 is built in MIS OA Dictionary and prints a message to
that patient's location to the Attention of the Team Leader that the
patient's IV site rotation is overdue.

I hope it helps or gives you some ideas! Carolyn

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Attribute Help - Alert message to change IV site

Greetings,
Forgive me I am new at attributes and could use some expert "L" advice.

I have built a CDS to monitor IV sites which defaults a date that the IV
was inserted (view only). I am looking for an attribute that will alert
the user when a peripheral IV needs to be changed i.e., 3 days.
I have looked on the archive L list but have not found something that
will work yet(or that I know how to use,lol). I have a START/DC IV CDS
that pulls to this screen. "Date of Dressing" is the first field curser
stops at. So what I need is, if type is "PIV" and the "Date Inserted"
was over 3 days, user gets an alert "Consider Changing PIV Site".

             IV SITE MONITOR

View only fields:                   Entry Fields:
-----------------                   ----------------
IV Catheter Type? (PIV,ART,CL) Date of Dressing?
IV Site Location?                   Dressing Type?
Central Line Type? CL Still Needed?
Date Inserted?                      IV Site WDP?

Thanks in advance!!!
Ken
