Thanks for the quick response, Jeff and others. We actually had two carriage returns and had to set it to just one. When the patient selected and the MAR displayed, we can scan and get the confirmation beep from the scanner, but nothing happens in Meditech. Scanning does work in mannually selected fields or into wordpad. Any other thoughts out there. If so, you need to do a scan of the configuration barcode that turns on the carriage return after the scan. My scanner did not have this turned on by default. You can tell by running wordpad and if each barcode is on a separate line then the carriage return is on. If they are bunched together on the same line, you need to turn it on. HTH.
