Hi Chuck,

Our site is on Meditech Magic 5.4 and the scanner we use is the Metrologic Focus tethered scanner. Our pharmacy is utilizing linear, 2-D, RSS and other types of bar codes and had great success with the scanner.

We had a similar issue and found that the Bar Code formats in the Pharmacy Customer Defined Screens Dictionary must be setup in a particular sequence.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Scanning Barcodes in PCS/EMAR/BMV

We are in the process of implement EMAR/BMV with C/S 5.5 SR2.   We worked through our 2D barcode issue (actually stacked RSS which needed to be enabled) thanks to response here.   We now have another issue that Meditech seems to be stuck on

We have our scanners working for pharmacy data entry and into notepad.   However, scanning a patient or med while in the PCS/MAR screen does not trigger any response from Meditech.   Selecting manual adminitration does work and then we can either scan barcodes or enter the NDC/Pha Order #.

Any thoughts, input, or direction will be appreciated.

Thank you,
