Hi,
I have set up NUR with and without using the Care Plan routine. Either way
NIC/NOC can be used as a guideline, but I recommend building very few if any
"standard" care plans. Setting up a comprehensive Diagnosis (Problem)
dictionary, thorough assessments and a generous Query Link dictionary, will
go a long way to triggering a customized, patient specific set of
diagnosis/problems that will serve as an interdisciplinary plan of care.
You can display the problems and goals on an intervention CDS and build
intervention CDS's that includes all problem related documentation (status
of the problem, progress toward goal...). This helps limit the need to go
to the Care Plan routine. More and more I see Standards of Care being built
as age specific interventions which seems to make sense and keeps things a
little more streamlined.
Hope this helps,

Is anyone out there using NIC/NOC for care planning in meditech? Are you
creating multiple careplan or are you developing them using systems and
then standards of care?
thanks
