Meditech actually has a document, "Post LIVE Editing" with recommendations for addressing the issues you've described; I think I got it from our NUR specialist. I would NEVER inactivate any query (or group response or CDS) that had been documented even once. Copy the original CDS, make the changes and attach the new CDS to the intervention. Some facilities even leave the old CDS attached to a "non-patient" location on the intervention.
Hope this helps, Deb Stone, RN Informatics Consultant

This may seem like a very basic question but..... here goes. I have been changing a large number of queries, along with inactivating some to update active CDS. In the past I haven't had problem, but this time, I think it would have been a better idea to "retire" the first screen and create a new one. The problem showed itself in PCI with the end user having difficulty finding the info from the deleted queries. We use PCI data sources and can view the screen in its entirety, the screen was corrupted and it appeared as if the data was missing. What do you guys do in this situation?
