This has been a major problem with our facility as well. We now get updates of changes from Medical Staff Affairs, then one of our analysts has created a scripting program searching off PCI menus. For those with restricted access (ie: clinic staff not needing to see hospital patients), we will add the providers to their access list if applicable. Some have less restricted access, so we do not include new providers with them so have access to ALL providers. There are some refinements being made to the list of PCI menus, so we have not started doing it yet, but that is how it will work in theory. Up until this point we have been manually adding practices/providers to users individually when they call us to say they cannot see their patients! Created a NPR and then did a letter, mail merge in WORD; Sending out a letter asking for verification on fields with a fax back number. Once they are faxed back, we will make changes. We have over 4000 doctors in our Provider dictionary and our main concerns are the non staff physicians (3850). How does your facilities clean up name changes or misspells, address changes and the checking of the sanction lists. Does anybody have the sanction list automated somehow?
