Hi, We're opening up another facility--separate tax id--most services will be different than what we offer at our current hospital. Right now, our census is driven by location and works just fine; the mnemonic reflects the service. Our location dictionary is also identified by a mnemonic that most accurately reflects the service of the floor. The new facility will have many services on one floor, and the potential to move services around to other parts of the building; so as an example-- On one floor we have Peds patients/surgical patients/trauma patients. The beds are not service specific so patients can be anywhere on the floor. Any ideas on the best naming conventions to build the location dictionary, as well, how do you handle running a census that doesn't confuse everybody?
