Hi,

The Emergency Department has multiple ED physicians working on certain shifts.
They are not assigned to rooms, and see patients in all areas of the ED.

Orders in Order Entry are placed by the Triage Nurse using protocols approved
by the ED Physicians. That nurse does not know which physician will see the
patient. She simply uses one of the ED MD's on duty. The final x-ray report
goes to the MD ordering the film--and this MD may not have seen the patient.

The question below is from our ED Chief:

" I am still trying to get x-rays assigned to the correct MD. The problem
occurs when a pt is sent to xray
from triage with an arbitrary MD assigned. Other hospitals that have multiple
MDs on must have the same problem.

 How do they handle it?"

Thank you in advance for all reply's.
