Isn't it better that the system gives managers a tool to know what is
going on? I don't think that if they are documenting late, and actually
gave the med earlier that you want the system to force them to document
a wrong time.

I think the light of eMAR shines brightly on many areas that have always
been an issue, but are now brought to everyone's attention.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Users changing times w/ BMV when outside the
variance?

For sites that are up and running w/ BMV ----

Are you finding that end users are changing the time
of administration when they SCAN MED, but are outside
the variance time frame for med administration?

I'm disappointed to find that even tho I have "Display
Scan Med Defaults" option set to 'N' in my MAR
dictionary, preventing users from changing the
date/time initially when they SCAN MED, if they are
outside the variance time, the system brings them into
the FULL DOCUMENT routine, and DOES allow changing of
the date/time.

As it is, users are already starting to voice concerns
about "now you'll be able to see all the times I give
meds late". I'm concerned that this part of BMV will
tempt them.

I know this can be monitored via reports, but I'd sure
like it if the option wasn't even there in the first
place. Ideally I'd like to see a user ONLY be able to
change the time of an administration via EDIT
DOCUMENT, or by going directly into FULL DOCUMENT
initally, but not from SCAN MED.
