I've found that we've been sending revenue code 250 to BAR
on some drugs when it should be 636. Our accounting people say that this doesn't
matter because this is fixed on the claims. When I look some drugs up, like
vincristine, it looks like you can use 250 or 636. Does anyone know if this may
be causing a problem with reports or something else. I just want to know if
pharmacy should worry about assigning the proper code. My analyst tells me that
the only thing the revenue code does is to group charges on the bill. Also,
anything with a J-code or other code lists individually anyway. I'm a pharmacist
and am sort of lost here, so could someone help explain this and whether we do
need to worry about having the proper revenue code assigned.
Thanks,
