1) If you have any personnel entering unverified orders (not just
interns), you need to carefully examine the whole process to ensure that
the verifications are getting done. The Print Unverified Orders routine
is a good tool to use. The pharmacist that supervises & checks the
intern's work should run the routine at reasonable intervals (perhaps
every 1-2 hrs) to ensure that all verifications have been done. If you
have just the one intern, then he/she could also run the routine
regularly and use it to notify the appropriate person to check the
orders. If you have multiple unverified users and pharmacist checkers,
then it falls on a shift supervisor to do routine checks.
2) You could use a string extraction to pull the "minutes" out of the
start time and warn if the start time is something other than on the
hour.
