I'm not familiar with this data segment, but assume the field is "emp.name" and it is formatted as "Last, First Middle". You can use the "punctuation method" to extract the pieces (at least in MAGIC, can't speak for C/S) [EMAIL PROTECTED]"0," gives you the number zero "piece" (last name) [EMAIL PROTECTED]"1," gives you the number one "piece" (everything else) HTH Alan Miller,RPh >>> "Renee Rinehart" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 07/20/2006 15:35 >>> All messages should be posted in plain text. HTML will be converted to attachments. The meditech-l web site is MTUsers.com ====================================== I hope someone can help me with this computed field. I'm attempting to extract an employee's last name in a field and their first name/initial in another field so I can download to a spreadsheet. I did find a KB article that sort of addresses this, but not entirely. I'm writing this in PP.PER. Any help would be appreciated.
