Assuming the name is entered in the format Lastname,Firstname MI then you can
use the # string extraction operator and specify comma for a delimiter.

Your computed fields could look something this:

xx.lastname
DAT=FREE
LEN=30
[EMAIL PROTECTED]"0,"

xx.firstname.mi
DAT=FREE
LEN=30
[EMAIL PROTECTED]"1,"

Hope that helps,

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Magic npr help with computed field

I hope someone can help me with this computed field. I'm attempting to extract
an employee's last name in a field and their first name/initial in another
field so I can download to a spreadsheet. I did find a KB article that sort of
addresses this, but not entirely. I'm writing this in PP.PER. Any help would
be appreciated.
