We send lab results, MARs, and various other reports to pdf files every
2 to 3 hours using Automate and Win2PDF. The files are stored on a local
drive secured in our server room. We had a disaster drill today where we
lost all power. We were able to hook up a fast laser to the computer
(the server room has a UPS) and print out the reports. We also copied
them all to a USB jump drive in the event we needed to take them to
another site to print. It worked well.

We are considering stopping printing of all inpatient Health Record,
Diagnostic Imaging and Lab results. We do not have an archiving
system
yet.
For those of you who are not printing, what do you do in case of
downtime?
