Hello Liz & Julie. This type of question has been coming up allot as of late. We have a product that will back up files to a local Hard drive and store it until you need to print them. Mprint Server was designed specifically to back up files incase of downtime. You can go to the following link and download a Free 7 day trial version of MPrint server to see just how it works. Please visit our web site for more information. http://www.interbitdata.com/download.htm MPrint Server gives you the ability to define PCs and/or printers attached to PCs throughout your organization as MEDITECH devices. Printers can be shared even when they do not have Network Interface Cards (NICs) or terminal server ports. Reports can be automatically directed to PC hard drives via MEDITECH spooling utilities. MPrint Server runs as a background service on the Microsoft Windows platform and allows you to define multiple instances and rules in one program, offering better performance and simpler operation. The meditech-l web site is MTUsers.com ====================================== We send lab results, MARs, and various other reports to pdf files every 2 to 3 hours using Automate and Win2PDF. The files are stored on a local drive secured in our server room. We had a disaster drill today where we lost all power. We were able to hook up a fast laser to the computer (the server room has a UPS) and print out the reports. We also copied them all to a USB jump drive in the event we needed to take them to another site to print. It worked well. We do not have an archiving system yet. For those of you who are not printing, what do you do in case of downtime?
