======================================

We are a client/server 5.5.2 site, and we are wondering if anyone has figured out an effective way to create a billing visit without sending the visit to EMR.  We need to produce claims for these services so that we can bill insurance companies, so client billing will not work.  We know that we could create a new facility and not attach the facility to EMR/HUB, but that also seems like a lot of trouble.

An example of this type of scenario would be nursing home phlebotomy and travel charges.  Medicare will reimburse us for these services, and currently we are creating a visit in order to charge and bill.  However, this visit goes to EMR, which seems strange to have a visit without anything except billing activity in EMR.  By sending these types of visits to the EMR, the visit list for a patient appears “cluttered.”

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks,

Kim Tilley
