Our Systems Engineer has the following question for the techies on the list. __________________________________________________________________ We are running low on available space on our main Meditech file server. To increase the drive space my plan was to allocate additional space copy all the data from the old location to the new location and rename the drive letters to match the proper format. But when I attempted (during down time / vmagic not running) to copy all the data from the old location to the new location the copy runs very slow due to the large amount of "small" files. And I was not able to copy the data in time, during a three hour outage window. Are there files that can be copied to the new location while is production "vmagic service is running" and then all the rest of the files could then be copied during outage time "vmagic not running"? I am currently looking at using "robocopy.exe" from the Windows 2003 resource kit. Any additional ideas would be greatly appreciated as well as, did you ever have to perform this function? If so how did you do it? Thanks! _______________________________________________ meditech-l mailing list [email protected] http://mtusers.com/mailman/listinfo/meditech-l
