We have setup a test in BBK test dictionary for re-typing the specimen.
It is profile test and orderable.
The profile test (RABORH) is consisting of:
Retype anti-A (RAA),
Retype anti-B (RBB),
Retype anti-AB (RAAB),
Retype anti-D (RAD),
And patient blood retypes interpretation (RBTP).

The RBTP is 'B' type (Blood Type) test and the on page 3 we have a
result group (A) and 'B-Type Tests' has required tests;
AA - Anti-A
AB - Anti-B
AAB - Anti-AB
AD - Anti-D
ADU
DCTL
AC - A cell
BC - B cell
On page 4 indicate the result group (A).

This way when we have an add-on order of additional packed cells, the
techs will order RABORH which is not chargeable and they will enter the
results into Meditech for retyping.

Hi Judy,
We merely make a result comment in an existing test. The anti-A test is
used
for the type and screen. When units are added to a specimen, we retype
the
specimen we use and record it in a result comment in the immediate spin
crossmatch test of the first unit in that crossmatch run.
The comment goes something like this: 'BT verified by retype on [enter
specimen ID] by [current userID] on [date/time]. The specimen ID can
then
reference a Meditech specimen ID from another part of the lab or list a
newly collected specimen's date/time of collection.

Hello,

Is anyone routinely doing retypes on your BBK specimens? How do you
have this built? We set it up to reflex to a new requisition when no
previous history is available, but that is messing up add-on orders from
OE. The add on orders are attaching to the retype requisition rather
than the original requisition.

Thanks,
Judy Hill
