Hello everyone, I have a question that was presented to me by our
pharmacy. We do not have the POEM yet but will eventually.
Those of you with electronic medical records, is there any other way (besides physicians
actually typing orders into the computer) that will record the order into the
permanent medical record. I have not seen the actual module, but if it is
anything like ordering through OE, I see it as cumbersome for a doc to
place pharmacy orders. I was wondering about products like Pyxis Connect that scans
written physician orders so the pharmacy can make notes on them etc…Is
there any interfaces that will also scan this into the medical record? Any
other products out there that would allow some sort of scanned order into the
record? Our problem is some very old Docs who are set in
their way and may not “adapt well” to all this new
technology, their comfort level being written orders. Our goal is
eventually to go paperless. How do you get your doctors on board with
POEM? We are a small rural hospital and its hard enough to recruit as it
is. Any thoughts? Diane |
