Hi All,

It's been a little while now and we had a similar issue happen to us.
We upgraded to the Meditech NMI interface and are at 5.4 SR2 Magic. It
involves how your NMI messaging is occurring. There are two possible
message codes NW for new order and XO for update RX data that play a
role. If I can remember the XO message was being sent to Pyxis after an
FDC and because we had lead/lag parameters set the RX history was still
there. To complicate matters we have a discharge delay built into Pyxis.
Long story short, the FDC by UNDO NMI message XO was sending a nil stop
date change order to Pyxis and Pyxis was not updating that time to a
full year as it would for a new order (NW). It was retaining the DC Date
and time of the bogus discharge. This was a "passive DC" issue. I
recreated the problem by limited editing the stop time to now for any
given med order and then waited for Meditech to DC the order. Then FDC
and wiped out the stop date and saw the problem in Pyxis.

See if that's the case for you. The Pyxis engineer wrote some code that
if an XO order is sent with a nil stop date from Meditech to put in the
standard 1 year expiration date as it would if it were a new order. The
problem was solved after that.

Ed

I doubt if anything is being blocked by Pyxis. I'll bet Meditech is
simply not sending anything to Pyxis for FDC's. (Pyxis can only catch
something if it's thrown.)

Kevin - I haven't had a chance to do this, but plan to see if there is
a way
to do it. Where this comes into play a lot is when someone is
discharged in
error and the order is fixed by undo.
