First, is there anyone that uses the CART Tool (CMS Abstraction & Reporting Tool) software? Do you use the Import function of the CART tool to pull information from downloaded ABS reports that meet the guidelines of the Uniform Billing File Layout? If so, you may be able to answer the questions below. Even if you do not, you still may be able to answer at least the first 2 questions below. 1.) I am able to pull in the principal procedure code, but how do you pull in the principal procedure date? I have tried everything and every field I could think of, but I am still unable to get this piece of information. 2.) How do you handle pulling in the other procedure codes and other procedure dates onto the report? And, are you able to even pull the other procedure dates in? 3.) How do you handle pulling in the payment source information if the patient has multiple payment sources (i.e. Medicare and Medicaid and Other)? Do you pull in the primary payment source or all of them? 4.) Last, but not least, do you pull in the HIC number for patients that have Medicare as a secondary insurance? If so, how do you handle this? I have most of the report written following the guidelines of the Uniform Billing File Layout, but a report example of any of the above would still be great to look at.
