HTML will be converted to attachments. The meditech-l web site is MTUsers.com ====================================== We are a MAGIC site LIVE with E-MAR and BMV and scheduled to go LIVE with CPOE next week. I am curious how other facilities without 24 hour pharmacy are handling after hour medication orders. Currently we do not show "un-verified" meds on the MAR, and a pharmacist must be called to review and verify the order before the nurse can document. Our proposed plan was to show the physician entered un-verified order and have a pharmacist verify the order in the morning. This process seems to flow pretty well, but we have some JCAHO concerns. If you could answer these few questions it would give us a pretty good feel for how others are handling this issue. 1. Is your pharmacy open 24 hours? 2. Are you LIVE with E-MAR? 3. Are you LIVE with POM? 4. Do you show un-verified medications on the MAR? 5. Do your nurses document on the un-verified meds at night? 6. Do your nurses document on the un-verified meds during the day? 7. If you answered no to #6, how do you prevent this? Thanks in advance for any information you are willing to share.
