Kathy,

Our maintenance department handles all our repairs.  If it is cable/signal problems they will take care of it.  Hardware…probably not. (unless it is something they know they can fix.) otherwise they would call a repairman or replace.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Off topic: How does your hospital handle patient TVservice/repairs

Hi all,

I know this topic is far removed from the subject of Meditech, but I am looking for some feedback from other hospitals on what department handles their patient TV service or repairs. When a patient television breaks, do you have an in-house department take care of replacing/repairing or do you outsource? If in-house, what type of training (or expertise) does the repair person have?

Ours is currently handled by our computer technicians and we are looking into other alternatives. Any response will be appreciated.
