We did find a fix . At the client end of the thin client , there is a setting under one of the remote Desktop settings. I don't know exactly which one , but you basically move it to keyboard setting. Ok, found out a little bit more about this issue if anyone might know a solution... On the thin clients that have hardwired hand scanners, the capitals lock is not recognized . The wireless scanners work perfectly and so put the caps in when scanning the barcodes. For some reason the hand scanners ( and they were programmed to read everything as caps) that Are physicially connected to the thin clients don't play nice. The same scanner works perfectly On a regular wireless laptop, but doesn't on the thin clients. The wireless scanners work whether they are on the thin clients or not. Really weird. We have a mix of thin Clients and laptops. We are using wireless scanners . We have noticed that when we scan the patient wrist band when giving the medications that it works fine. However if we scan the patient acct barcode during acknowledging the order , the account number goes in with the first letter no longer capitalized and we see patient not found error. In our other modules , PHA, OE, LAB etc. when we scan using the thin client we see the same problem the capital letter in the front of the acccount number is no longer capitalized and MEDITECH cant find the patient. This is only on the thin clients. It looks like in BMV when giving a med is the only time it is working with a thin client. Has anyone at out there in BMV land run across this issue ? If so how did you fix it Without messing up the other laptops and desktops ? Thanks in advance.
