Tara,

Jump ship now.  There are issues when using Word on a Citrix environment.  Let me guess, you are getting locks and most importantly you have some reports missing bodies of text?

I just left Alberta for Ireland and I was the Clinical Analyst for ITS and we had so many issues with transcription on our Citrix environment.  The issue was that when a user started a new transcription it would open a temp file, they would type in the body of test, and if when they pressed 'F12' and another person opened a new transcription before they pressed the second 'F12' the body of the test could become empty for the 1st user.  When I left (Late July) my region and Meditech were working on a DTS to solve this.  You may want to talk to your Meditech person and ask them to contact Rachna Padval.  She will be able to update you further on the situation.  Using Meditech's text writer works fine by the way.

Thanks

What are most hospitals using for Pathology transcription? Are most places using Word or Rich Text? We are CS 5.5 with Citrix and having big issues with running Word. Has anyone else out there experienced this?
