I found out something additional on the printers. Lab was evidently having
the same problem with their printers that we are having and Meditech made a
change (which didn't work) but looking at the time-line, may have been what
messed up our printers.

I certainly hope that someone can help solve the problem that we are
having with our
Datamax I Class: DMX-I 4208 thermal printers. We started using these in
June to print our IV and Med labels with no problem (we have 2 - one for
the IV labels and one for the Med labels). They worked fine for over 2
months until the first week in September when while running the IV refill
list, only about 15 labels printed until the screen hung up, which
eventually caused a lock on the print que. The Med printer worked fine for
another 2 weeks until a tech was doing duplicate labels for a cart fill
and it did the same thing that the IV printer had done. She only got 10
labels on this one before it hung up.
Meditech swears that they have not changed anything (but who knows,
maybe they did) that would cause a problem. We checked the wiring and
connections, which were all fine, tried new firmware, new printer even,
and still the same problem. Has anyone else encountered this problem and
if so, have you found the solution to fixing it? This has been going on
for 5 weeks now and our IS departmen has no solution.
