Has anyone had any luck printing to a label, any size, using WORD through ITS? Currently, my client transcribes to a mainframe, files the report, which prints to locally defined pin feed printers, running a continuous label stock that is 5 x 1.5. These are EKG reports, that they stick directly onto the EKG tracing itself.
Even setting up the WORD page settings, i.e. small margins, paper size as above, etc. in the ITS report Enter/Edit word reports the printer still acts like it is getting an 8.5 x 11 inch paper. I was successful in getting the report, with Meditech headers/footers, to stay on the label, but the printer would advance to the next page, thereby wasting several labels.
A new OkiData printer was brought in, as client was told that this type of printer could over ride any code sent by Meditech, i.e. tell the printer what size paper, and type away.........wrong........it recognizes the height of the page (yeah!), but ignores the width, it prints as 8.5 inches.
Meditech continues to say that Meditech will not do this, as it is meant to communicate only with lazer jet printers running 8.5 x 11 stock, for reports.
However, I find it hard to believe someone has not been successful with this?
Looking forward to your responses.....I'm out of ideas.
