Got a reply back from
LSS. The
NPI parameter needed to be set that tells the system which insurance PIN to use for
the NPI number. Re-testing to
see if this works.

We are not a beta site for the NPI testing for LSS.
We are in version 5.4. That is correct, we have entered the NPI # to the
Ins PIN # field on page 2 of the Meditech Provider Dictionary. LSS then
loaded this DTS that in the Edit EDI fields we can enter "I" = (Print the
doctor's NPI number from the Ins PIN # field of the MIS Doc Dict based on the
corresponding user defined key in the Ins PIN) of the Payor Dict. We
have been unable to have the NPI value to appear on the claims. We have
asked LSS to look at our set up but figured that i would put it out there
to see if anyone was having the same problem.

Are
you a beta site for the NPI testing for LSS? We use LSS and was told a few
weeks ago that the code was still in BETA. What version of
Meditech are you using? From past conversations with LSS, I think they
expect you to create an NPI Pin number in the MIS Provider dictionary.
There are dictionaries in Meditech that allow you to create the Pin Label.
You then just go into each of the applicable Meditech providers and add the NPI
number. I think it's on Page 2. Of course, it's been months since I
talked with them, and their plan of action may have changed. If you're not
a BETA site, I'll probably call LSS and see if we can get the DTS loaded
here.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] NPI testing in LSSWe are using LSS and we are ready to do our first round of testing the NPI values. LSS has loaded a DTS that provides code to allow the NPI value to be submitted on ANSI claims. The NPI value is currently entered in the Meditech MIS Provider dictionary and when processing claims in LSS it would pull this value from Meditech. Has anyone out there done the testing for the NPI values to print out on their claims? Would you be able to share how or what dictionaries/parameters need to be change to have the NPI to print out. Any help would greatly be appreciated.ThanksTeresita JeupHCIS AnalystIT DepartmentPhysician Management Group/CSSD(858)309.6300 ext.6192NOTICE: This message, including attachments, is for the sole use of the intended recipient(s) and may contain legally protected confidential, proprietary, and/or privileged information.
