[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] I have a report written in ADM.PAT using the detail segment
of events. The registration index. It shows the number of admits for a location by date and by
shift using the event.codes of ENADMIN and ENADMOB. I have discovered that how we handle observation patients to
inpt has impact the accuracy of this report. If an observation patient is changed to an inpt, the
effective date and time is the date/time that the order is received to change
their status. This actually creates a 2nd admission date. On this report, this type of patient shows on their original
date of admission AND on the date they were changed to an inpatient. We
want to patient to only be counted on the original date of admission. Problem seemed easy to solve. Simply suppress those
patients with the event.code of OBSVTOIN. In trying to do this, what I have discovered is that you
don’t even see that event.code in the registration index. When I
print the all event.codes for the patient for a date, that event.code is not
attached. I have found that you can only seem to find that event.code
in the adm.pat.exception.index. I am thinking that I have to do something via a fragment to
exclude and was hoping someone already had one that would do something similar. Would also appreciate any help. Thanks
