Has anyone set up withholding codes for medical insurance contributions for an employee with a civil union partner ?
I know that the employee's contribution for the partner's coverage can't be pre-tax for FIT, FICA & Medicare thru our Section 125 Plan but is pre-tax for our state income tax. I understand how to set that up with a separate WH Code for that portion of the contribution which would be deducted from the BASE in the State Income Tax WH Code but not from the FIT, FICA & Medicare WH Codes. The part I am struggling with is how to add the employer cost of the partner's coverage to the employee's federal wage bases (FIT, FICA & Medicare) since that cost is imputed income to our employee.
