Good Afternoon, We are having an issue with determining how to handle add on LAB testing with a Pulsecheck/Picis EDIS system and Magic 5.5 MEDITECH LAB. Often orders are placed by a triage nurse and then more testing by the physician. Some of the tests in the second round of tests are add-ons and some require a new specimen. The problem is that the first round of testing is typically completed by the time the second orders are placed. Does anyone have a way to handle this other than canceling the new order and reordering it under the original specimen? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
