POST From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Phyllis Morris Sent: Monday, November 06, 2006 2:21 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Dictation w/o Actual Hospital Visit Does anyone have a policy/procedure for admitting a patient into the
Meditech system for the purpose of assigning an H number so that reports
dictated by a provider that are not related to a specific hospital visit can be
kept in PCI for future reference? This might be an H&P or other report
that was dictated and transcribed for a patient whose surgery was cancelled or
postponed for example. Or it might be a "patient alert report" that
outlines a care plan for pain management or mental health issues dictated by a
PCP following an office visit that is not related to a specific hospital
visit. I am not suggesting this is good practice, I have just been asked
to find out if other hospitals have a policy or procedure for doing this and
what the pros/cons would be. Any input would be
appreciated....
