We are a C/S 5.5 site going live with PCS and EMAR in the next few weeks.
During planning we had to develop a way for the nursing staff to know what
medications to pull from the Pyxis med station without having a paper medex
with them. We developed our Status Board with a MED column that will pull
all overdue, scheduled and prn meds due.
ISSUE : Our prepared IVs only show on the status board as IV. Our IV
floor stock (D5W) entered by Pharmacy, do NOT show at all on the status
board.
Since Meditech took the View MAR option away in 5.5 we are not sure if there
any other options out there? Meditechs response to the display of only
IV is to further drill down into the MAR in the med room. The issue with
this is the status board in the Pyxis med room will be set up as a "dummy"
user by location and MIS is very concerned with no control over the MAR
access.
