I'm not sure if you have purchased an audit tool or are looking to do your
own custom auditing. If you're looking for a tool, I'd recommend Blue
Elm's DR Auditor. I've helped other DR sites with their auditing strategy
and this has been the most successful solution I've come across.

you are using
more detailed information daily (or within a couple of days of generation)
for more 'near-real-time' reporting, then a daily audit of those areas are
needed. Again, for data that you are currently not using, a monthly or
bi-monthly audit would be best. This way, when you are ready to use this
data, you can say with a high degree of confidence that the data is
accurate and does not contain periodic gaps due to unidentified hang ups
of the DR. Because MEDITECH purges data, if you have data gaps, it's
better to identify them now and not after the fact when MEDITECH has
purged out the data you need to have MEDITECH re-load. Once it's gone,
it's gone.
