Cindy,

Are you saying that the interface from PHA to OE is on and that any RT
orders entered through PHA are crossing to OE or do you have to actually
enter an RT procedure to get a printout at RT's printer?

Thanks!

In our workflow, there is time in the patient's care that the RT meds
gets turned over to Nursing. How does this printing work when Nursing
is responsible for admin of RT meds?

You can actually set it up in the OE procedure dictionary to print the
med/procedure to any printer. We have our set up so that all respiratory
meds print to both PHA and the network printer in Respiratory care. That
way, there is no question about notification.

Hope this helps,

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] pharmacy rule

Does anyone have a rule that would make a message print to a certain
printer if a certain medication is ordered on a patient? We are having
issues with Respiratory meds/treatments being missed. Nursing feels
that Pharmacy should notify respiratory when they place the order in
pharmacy and pharmacy feels nursing should be calling respiratory. Just
thought that if I could attach a rule that when a certain med was
ordered, it sent some type of message to the resp printer maybe we could
settle the issue.

Thanks.
