What we are doing is keeping a second Meditech session open to the #16 Process Patient Activity routine just for the purpose of locating these activities. The pharmacists toggle over to that session ever 30 minutes to refresh their view to find their activities. Since this takes 30-60 seconds plus, the usually toggle back over to the primary session and continue to enter orders until the routine has refreshed. This appears to be working for us. However it would obviously be much better to have a Meditech process that would just flag the appropriate pharmacist (perhaps an indicator on their menu like MOX new message), but I'm not sure they're even working to improve this process. We are being told to schedule a report (what report?) to print every so often, but I am skeptical about this. Can anyone who successfully uses this process give me some specifics that I can take to I.S.? We certainly want to utilize this functionality and decrease telephone calls and forms, but our pharmacists are constantly super busy with a backlog of orders and tend not to deal with reports until caught up (i.e. never). We are very label driven though. Has anyone come up with a way to get the Hold Acknowledgement to print on a thermal label? Thanks for any contributions.
