Hey Susan, We had this same problem with patients transferred from non-computerized units to computerized units. These patients sometimes had 200 orders to be acknowledged. We discovered that we could allow the nurses to acknowledge all of these at the same time by activating the "Process Orders" button found in the window after clicking on the acknowledge flag.
The Process Orders button opens up an Order Entry routine that lists all unacknowledged orders. The <Shifit>+<Rt. Control> buttons can be used to check all orders and a verbstrip option for "Verify/Acknowledge Orders" can be selected! This was a big hit when we rolled it out for our nurses! We have the same problem with acknowledging orders. We asked Meditech if we could acknowledge all orders by using a "select all" button instead of individually...their response was that this is "currently not standard functionality." This issue has been submitted as a MIX Enhancement and is in a "under review" status. I have a couple of questions I'm hoping someone can help me with. First, when I use the worklist function, every single intervention shows up. We have a lot of interventions that we don't necessarily document on, they are just what we should be doing from the plan of care....skin care, etc. We also have a lot of teaching interventions, but we don't have directions on them. They are taught as needed. I'd like the teaching interventions to show on the worklist but I don't want all of the other documentations to show. Is there somewhere you can say to only show interventions with certain print priorities or something? Also, when we enter orders they are verified. Is there someway to have the status board know that they are verified and do not need to be acknowledged? Thanks.
