Have you tried waving the scanning wand very close to the barcode.
Almost touching it. Also, make sure that the darkness is set to at least
 10.
We're using Zebra Printers, seems to work fairly well.

We are implementing BMV in a couple of weeks and are having some
difficulty with getting the BARCODES to scan on the wristbands
consistently.  Our scan rate is about 1 x out of 10.  We use the Symbol
DS 6608 scanners which are scanning the meds really well but can't get
to that success levels with the bands.  Has anyone got any words of
advice or help.  We have horizontal and vertical on the bands.
