Janet,
We print our bands on a Zebra 2844, we are Magic 5.5 SR2.

Are your barcodes printing dark enough? I ended up adding a density
line to our format to get ours to print darker.

Is the staff able to flatten out the wristband so they can scan? On a
small wrist we put the two ends flat rather than running it around the
wrist. Also, I moved the barcode closer to the end of the band making
it easier to flatten it out to scan.

If you need specifics please let me know.

We are implementing BMV in a couple of weeks and are having some
difficulty with getting the BARCODES to scan on the wristbands
consistently. Our scan rate is about 1 x out of 10. We use the Symbol
DS 6608 scanners which are scanning the meds really well but can't get
to that success levels with the bands. Has anyone got any words of
advice or help. We have horizontal and vertical on the bands.
