Donna,
We have always had techs enter unverified orders and then pharmacists verify.
We believe this gives us a second check and wouldn't consider doing it any
other way. (The only orders a pharmacist enters are those in an order set, it
just saves time.) It has always worked well for us, although I believe there
are only a handful of hospitals doing this.
Valerie

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Pharmacy Order Entry

My pharmacy director was wondering if anyone out there is having anyone else
besides the pharmacist entering your orders? Do you have

Pharmacy techs or interns entering orders unverified? If so, who is ordering
and how is it going? What problems/issues are you having? What's successful?

We have found the VEC routine to be not user friendly which is why we have
backed off from this.

As always, your responses are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Donna
