Our Medical Staff Office owns the Provider Dictionary and all entries and edits.
To manage mnemonics, however, all new providers are first entered in the Universe as users by I.S. That mnemonic is then given to the Medical Staff office for entry in the Provider Dictionary so that the providers' mnemonics are consistent throughout. For both users and providers, we ordinarily add a number behind the existing mnemonic STEDAN STEDAN2 STEDAN3 Etc. That's why we put them in the Universe first. Because if we already have a Nurse using mnemonic STEDAN in the Universe, and a new provider comes in - he will be STEDAN2 in both the Universe and the Provider Dictionary. Does that make sense? Also, when you have multiple providers whose names follow your mnemonic patterns (IE: Daniel Stephen {STEDA} and David Stewart {STEDA}), what mnemonic do you assign the second one? Do you add a number after the letters, so that it would be STEDA1, or do you do something different?
