We use OE to printout a lot of forms in same day surgery. After going to 5.5, we found that an enhancement triggers the reprinting of forms every time an order is canceled. So what is happening is that the patient cancels the surgery, the unit coordinator cancels all the OE orders and NUR orders for that visit so that adm can cancel the account without a message of outstanding issues and this triggers the reprinting of all the forms again. This can be a lot of paper on a bad weather day when many elderly won't venture out. Meditech has this is working as designed. Does anyone have ideas on how I could write a rule or something to suppress the printing? I don't write many rules.
