Check out Motion Computing's new C5 tablet with a built in scanner (
www.motioncomputing.com/buy/buy_c5.asp ) Wish this was available a year
ago. We use carts here. Space is not the issue for our nurses, but
lugging the carts to the rooms for one prn med is a huge issue and they
are not happy campers.

why did you decide not to put wall mounts in the rooms ?
We use laptops on carts and space is an issue for us. The nurses want us
to trial putting wall mounts in a few rooms on our med surg units.
We did trial it on peds and it didnt work out because of where we place
our cribs.

        Hi,

We are trying to get a sense of how other facilities are
handling lack of space issues on units when introducing computers on
wheels. Our units do not have the room to park 8 to 9 carts when
recharging them and putting computers in all of the patient rooms is not
an option. Is anyone out there using the new technology which will
re-charge cart batteries just by having the cart in the proximate range
of the "charger" or have any suggestions for dealing with the issue of
not being able to have 8-9 carts tethered to the wall in the even of an
emergency?

        Thanks

        Chris
