We are in the process of implementing bar-coded wristbands for positive patient identification. In conjunction with this, we are considering the use of patient identification labels on various documents, to be used in place of embossed card imprints. (This is an interim step until we are able to use all-electronic forms that include patient identification.) We would appreciate insights from anyone who has had experience using labels to replace embossed card imprints.
