Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, NY currently has a position open
and available for our Technical Services Manager position. We are a 282
bed acute care facility with a 260 bed nursing home and 4 Family
Practice Physician Offices. Meditech C/S is our HCIS with a near
full-suite of Meditech applications implemented. Below is a brief job
description and list of requirements.
Technical Services Manager Job Summary
Position is responsible for the research, planning, engineering, and
modeling of the SMC enterprise network architecture. Identifies the
requirement for new organization wide technologies through continuous
review of markets and existing standards for appropriateness. Recommends
standards for adoption to IS leadership. Oversees the implementation of
new standards and the maintenance (version control and update)
activities. Publishes, maintains, and communicates these standards to
all interested parties. Works in such areas as, but not limited to,
Network Cabling, Campus Area Networking, Regional Area Networking,
Desktop Services, Office Automation, Dedicated Remote Access, Internet &
Library Research, Dial Up Remote Access, Print Services, Voice Systems
Services, Host Access, File Services, Security Management and Directory
Services. Acts as technical consultant to all areas of Information
Services. Supervises Technical Services staff.
Job Requirements
a. Minimum Education Requirement :
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or a
commensurate level of education and work experience.
b. Minimum Experience Requirement :
Five years experience hands on technology installation and maintenance.
General knowledge of IS with emphasis on networking and computer
technologies. Must have professional appearance and manner and be able
to exercise creativity, good judgment and initiative. Previous
experience in a health care environment preferred. Proficient in the use
of a personal computer including word processing. Excellent
interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication
skills required. Ability to independently take initiative and exercise
good judgment in decision-making. Ability to work efficiently and
effectively under deadline pressures and to simultaneously handles
multiple projects. Professional maturity that daily sets the tone in
carrying out the responsibilities of the position. High degree of
honesty, integrity and confidentiality. Demonstrates flexibility and
willingness to undertake new responsibilities as assigned. Ability to
work under stress.
c. Minimum Certification Requirement:
Microsoft MCSE Certification preferred.
