Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, NY currently has a position open
and available for our Application Analyst position. We are a 282 bed
acute care facility with a 260 bed nursing home and 4 Family Practice
Physician Offices. Meditech C/S is our HCIS with a near full-suite of
Meditech applications implemented. Below is a brief job description and
list of requirements.
Job Summary
The individual must handle the daily management of the HIS (Hospital
Information System) financial/clinical applications and project
management for enhancements, upgrades, and new requirements of the
software. Works closely with users to help determine the information
needed and the necessary format and time lines. Understands how the
modules work together in order to gather the appropriate data. He or she
must use other software products (e.g., spreadsheets, databases, etc.)
to transform the data into usable information. Provides leadership, help
define strategic direction, provide excellent customer service and
coordinate inter-departmental activities with other directors and
managers. The individual must understand the role of the department with
respect to the overall operations of the organization. Must maintain
patient confidentiality and must protect the security of HIS.
Job Requirements
a. Minimum Education Requirement :
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or Business
or a commensurate level of education and work experience.
b. Minimum Experience Requirement :
Three to five years' healthcare experience strongly preferred. Two years
Meditech or compatible systems experience is strongly preferred. This
includes both functional and technical experience. Demonstrated ability
to communicate effectively with end users is key.
