Re: Magic Pathology v5.4 When a provisional diagnosis is required, we would like to implement the following process:
1- Fill in the Provisional diagnosis data section. The status will then be changed to PROV (allowing the tracking of specimens waiting for a final diagnosis) 2- Preliminary eSign the specimen. Status will be changed to POUT, and automatic distribution will be launched. 3- When the final diagnosis becomes available,it will then be entered into the Final Diagnosis Data Section Status will be changed to DIAG (report cannot be viewed or printed anymore - until it is signed out) 4- Final eSign of the specimen. Status becomes SOUT, and automatic distribution is launched again. The problem is with the PTH Specimen Type dictionary. it contains an entry for "Req for Sign Out", to identify the data sections that must be completed before Sign Out is allowed. If we specify Prov Diag and Final Diag, then we cannot Prelim eSign after the Provisional Diagnosis, as the Final Diagnosis is not yet completed. Meditech support was unable to propose any solution, or workaround. Of course, we do not want to allow Prelim eSign if the Provisional Diagnosis data section is not completed. However, Final eSign is allowable even if there are no Provisional Diagnosis (only Final Diagnosis is required) Has anyone ever evaluated the above scenario? What conclusions/solutions did you came to?
