Hi Everyone,
If you have deployed POM in the ED, what are you doing to adhere to the 2007 
National Patient Safety goal regarding verification of orders by pharmacy in 
the ED except in emergent situations?  Do you have pharmacists in the ED 24/7?  
Do the orders go to pharmacy unverified?  That seems impossible to us in terms 
of delays.

Do you use EMAR in the ED?  Do the RNs dispense the directly from Dispensing 
machines such as Omnicel or Pyxis?  Are your dispensing set for profiling?
